Deaths Of Man, Woman Found In Concord NH Under Investigation

CONCORD, N.H (CBS) -- Police are investigating how a man and a woman died after their bodies were found in Concord, N.H. Attorney General Gordon MacDonald announced the deaths were ruled as suspicious.

It all began when police got a 911 call around 4 am Friday when the bodies of a man and woman found inside their unit at the Concord Gardens apartments.

Word spread quickly among neighbors who say the victims are older.

"Very, very, nice sweet couple,:" one woman said. "Every time when I used to walk my dog they would always speak to me and say hi. They were very nice people."

Another neighbor was too upset to appear on camera but summed up the general feeling.

"To see and hear something like that is kind of sad because they were happy and literally stuck to themselves," the neighbor said. "Didn't bother no one. You waved hi they waved hi back."

Late Friday police searched the unit and removed bags of evidence while a large group of neighbors watched. Investigators do not believe there is a threat to the general public.

"We've got two individuals inside the home that were there and we do believe that the scene is entirely contained so that is one thing at this point," said Benjamin Agati, Senior Assistant Attorney General. "We don't have any belief that there is another location that's involved. And we do feel that we've got a good handle of all of the individuals who were involved in this particular picture."

Their identities are being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
