BOSTON (CBS) – State police said a man pulled from the water at Carson Beach in South Boston has died.

Police said William Morant, 52, of Brockton, was unconscious and “in medical distress” when he was pulled from the water a little after 2:30 p.m. Friday.

He was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
