Body Of Man Found In Franklin Park In Dorchester Was Burned

BOSTON (CBS) - According to I-Team sources, the body of the man found in Franklin Park on Saturday was burned and lay on a rock.

The body was found at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park in Dorchester.

Police received a call for a brush fire at the golf course at about 5 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, police found a body.

Mayor Marty Walsh called the incident, "a pretty sad situation."

However, residents of the area say they are not surprised.

"They've been finding bodies here for years," said one neighborhood woman.

Boston police have initiated a death investigation.

The cause of death has not been determined, and the identity of the victim has not been released.
