Methuen Police Investigating After Mailbox Damaged In Apparent Explosion
METHUEN (CBS) – Methuen police are investigating after a mailbox on Garfield Street was damaged in an apparent explosion.
Chief Joseph Solomon told WBZ-TV that it appears a "powerful firecracker-type item" was placed in the mailbox and exploded.
The incident happened Wednesday at about 7 a.m. No one was hurt, but a vehicle parked across the street took minor damage to a bumper.
Police officers and arson detectives are actively investigating the explosion.
