WORCESTER (CBS/AP) — Police say the 6-year-old son of a woman who was stabbed in Connecticut has been found in Worcester.

His mother was stabbed early Tuesday in Hartford. Police say she's hospitalized in Hartford in stable, but critical condition after being stabbed about 30 times.

Police say the boy was found in Worcester near the suspect's car. The boyfriend hasn't yet been located.

The names of those involved were not immediately released publicly.

The investigation is ongoing. Worcester Police are assisting police in Hartford.

Connecticut police had entered the boy in a nationwide database for missing and endangered children, which helped Worcester investigators connect the cases just three hours after the attack.

Police are working on a warrant for that suspect. The little boy is not biologically the suspect's; he's the mother's from a previous relationship.
