2 Dead After Pickup Truck Hits Tree In Stoughton

STOUGHTON (CBS) – Two people were killed in a crash on Plain Street in Stoughton Tuesday.

A pickup truck veered off the road and struck a tree shortly after 5:00 pm. The crash was so violent the vehicle was nearly unrecognizable.

"It is a serious tragedy and a serious, serious crash scene," Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara said.

Stoughton Police and the State Police collision reconstruction team are investigating the crash.

The names and ages of the victims have not been released.
