Officers say around 3 p.m. on Sunday, they found a dog stranded on the ice on Harris Pond behind the Public Works building.

A firefighter quickly geared up in a survival suit and made his way through the melting ice to pick up the dog named Rosie and get her back to safety.

Rosie looked a little shaken up, but otherwise appears OK.
