BRIDGEWATER (CBS) – A 26-year-old man is dead after being struck by an SUV following a crash on Route 24 Sunday night.

Massachusetts State Police say the chain of events began at about 9:20 p.m. near Exit 15 in Bridgewater.

Darkeem Kelow, of Boston, was driving a 2014 Chevy Equinox on Route 24 south when he struck a 2004 Honda Civic in the left lane, police said.

Then, Kelow got out of his SUV, ran into the left lane of the northbound side, and was fatally hit by a Ford Escape, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A male passenger in the Civic and the driver of the Ford Escape were both hospitalized with injuries.

The incident is still under investigation by police and the Plymouth Country District Attorney’s Office.
