Man Killed In Overnight Attleboro Shooting

ATTLEBORO (CBS) -- Police say an arrest has been made after a 34-year-old California man was shot and killed in Attleboro overnight.

Officials were initially called to a home on South Avenue just before 11 p.m. on Monday, they stayed on the scene until early Tuesday morning.

According to police, the victim was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 34-year-old Thomas Pomare of Santa Barbara, California.

The house appeared to be targeted and the gunman was looking for marijuana, said the Attleboro Police Chief.

Police say they arrested Christopher Johnson of Attleboro and charged him with misleading a criminal investigation. He will be arraigned in Attleboro District Court on Wednesday morning.
