14,000 Hoverboards Recalled Due To Fire, Explosion Risk
BOSTON (CBS) - Seven different manufacturers are recalling about 14,000 hoverboards right before the holidays.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the lithium-ion battery packs in the self-balancing scooters can overheat, catching fire or explode.
The brands recalled are sold at Salvage World, Drone Nerds, Village Mart, Simplified Wireless, Digital Products, Tech Drift and Dollar Mania.
Thousands of hoverboards have been recalled in the last two years because of the fire risk.
