Whitman Man Charged With OUI After Woman Struck In Stoughton

STOUGHTON (CBS) -- A Whitman man was arrested Sunday night after police say he drunkenly hit a woman with his car.

Vairo Martins, 38, was charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation, and driving without a license.

The crash happened as the woman was crossing Park Street in Stoughton around 9:37 p.m.

The woman was taken to a hospital in Boston with serious injuries, and Martins was arrested at the scene.

Stoughton Police are investigating the crash along with the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.
