Witnesses told police the driver was speeding and driving erratically before the crash. Police say tire marks suggest the car was unable to stop at an intersection and crashed into a pole on the east side of Gorham Street.

According to police, the woman's fetus is in good health. The driver is being treated for minor injuries. Police are investigating the crash and say charges are probable.
