Get Free Flowers At Downtown Crossing, Then Give Some Away
BOSTON (CBS) -- As part of a nationwide campaign, you can get two free bouquets of flowers today, as long as you pass one of them on to someone else.
The Society of American Florists says their #PetalItForward campaign is giving away the bouquets in more than 220 cities in all 50 states Wednesday.
They're surprising people on the street with the flowers, telling them that one is theirs to keep, and the second bouquet is "to share with a friend, family member, co-worker, or even a complete stranger."
In Downtown Crossing, the flowers are being given away by the florist team at the Roche Bros. Supermarket on Summer Street between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Downtown Boston Business Improvement District Corp. said on their Facebook page that the Roche Bros. florists were giving away 1,700 bouquets.
In Massachusetts Wednesday, the group was also giving out free flowers in Attleboro, Byfield, Duxbury, and Mendon.
