Police Seek Man Who Exposed Himself To Andover Students During Recess

ANDOVER (CBS) – Police are searching for a man they say exposed himself to children who were outside for recess at an Andover school.

Andover Police said they received a report on Tuesday that the previous day just before noon, students were out for their lunch recess at St. Augustine Elementary School.

A man allegedly stood outside his car in the Main Street parking lot and exposed himself.

Andover Police Lt. Edward Guy said two or three students witnessed the man's actions.

"That is very concerning to us and the community of Andover. Our students, our children, our community, their safety and security is paramount to us," said Guy.

Students told police the man then pretended to get on his cell phone, turned away from students, put his phone away and exposed himself again.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s with a slender build. He was reportedly driving a silver or black sedan that may have been a Honda or Volkswagen.

"As always the safety of your children is our first priority and we take this situation very seriously," St. Augustine principal Paula O'Dea said.

Kate Yetton, who has a kindergarten student at the school, said she was rattled by news.

"I'm kind of shaking inside. My teeth are chattering when I was talking to my mother because I come here every day," said Yetton. "It's like we're in this little bubble. It's Andover and it's St. Augustine's and it feels safe. There's so many things going on now. I feel like there's nowhere safe to take her."
