MATTAPAN (CBS) — Authorities have released the name of the woman who was struck and killed by a car Saturday night. 

Johnette Sims, 46, of Dorchester was crossing at the intersection of Morton and Canterbury Streets around 10:30 p.m. when she was struck.

Police say the driver, Anthony Buchanan, 39, of Dorchester, was speeding and driving while drunk when his rented Dodge Charger hit Sims. Buchanan stopped briefly and then drove away.

Buchanan turned himself in to police early Sunday morning. He faces multiple charges including motor vehicle homicide and speeding.
