Virtual Reality Bus Provides Students With Unique Learning Experience

BOSTON (CBS) – A virtual reality bus is encouraging students to learn in a unique way thanks to technology.

The bus, which is run by zSpace, visited the WBZ studios on Thursday.

Lisa Grippo is the Regional Director of zSpace in the Northeast.

She showed the technology off to WBZ-TV's Danielle Niles inside the virtual reality bus.

Niles used 3D technology to get a first-hand look at a beating heart.

The bus also allows participants to dive into a volcano, hold a virtual butterfly in their hands, and other experiences.

Thursday afternoon the bus will travel to Miscoe Hill Middle School in Mendon, followed by a stop in Scituate on Friday.

Grippo said the technology sparks the curiosity of students as they learn in a new way.

"The good thing about Z Space is it really allows students the ability to collaborate and work through different lessons together and it just empowers them to learn in a new and exciting way," said Grippo.
