DUXBURY (CBS) — A person died following a single-car crash into a tree Saturday night in Duxbury.

Police officers and firefighters were called to High Street shortly before 8 p.m. after receiving a report of the crash.

First responders found a driver in the car and no passengers when they arrived. Fire officials say the victim had to be extricated from the car using the Jaws of Life and may have gone into traumatic arrest on scene.

The victim was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Plymouth where he or she was pronounced dead. Police won’t identify the person until after the family is notified.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
