Police say the would-be robber told the clerk “gimme all the money, or I’ll give you AIDS.” Investigators say the man had a small “weapon” of some kind with a red tip in his hand, but they couldn’t confirm what it was.

The clerk responded by pulling a bat from behind the counter, and the man ran away, police said. It’s unclear in which direction he ran. No one was hurt.

In the video, the man appears to be wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with multi-colored stripes, a dark-colored bandana over his face, dark gloves, and light-colored pants.

The video also appears to show him randomly pressing buttons on the cash register to try and open it before leaving the store.
