Patriots-Redskins Week 9 Predictions
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots look to improve to 8-0 on the season as they host the Washington Redskins at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
This will be the 10th meeting between the two teams, with Washington holding a 6-3 advantage in the series. This is just their second trip to Gillette, having lost their only visit 52-7 back in New England's perfect regular season in 2007.

If there is any team that's going to beat the New England Patriots, it won't be the Washington Redskins.
In fact, expect another blowout Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
Patriots 38, Redskins 10

The Redskins are coming off an emotional win two weeks ago, as they erased a 24-0 deficit to nip Tampa Bay.
They get a weapon back in DeSean Jackson and they can run the ball a little bit. However, they turn the ball over way too much. Patriots are at home and they hope to get in and get out with a win - with no injuries. Pats should roll at home.

So maybe there are trap games out there for the Patriots, but this will not be one of them.
The Patriots could have a tough game against the Redskins, but they won't. The Pats are going to do whatever they can to stop the Washington ground game, so it will be up to Kirk Cousins to get the ball accurately to his receivers. Accurately is the key word, and one that is not usually associated with Cousins.
If the Redskins can't sustain a drive to start then the Pats will take the lead and that will be the best remedy to quiet Washington's running game. Cousins then would have to beat the Patriots and that's not going to happen.
The Pats win just because they are better coached, better prepared, have better players and they are at Gillette. Simply put, they are a better team.

The Patriots are 7-0 and have a future Hall of Fame quarterback who's playing at an historic pace. The Redskins are 3-4 and have a borderline NFL starter at QB, who's really only starting because of a combination of spite and a lack of other truly viable options. There's a reason the spread for this game is 14.
The clean-shaven Tom Brady, clearly unafraid of messing with a winning streak, will likely have another big game against an injury-riddled Washington secondary, and Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount should combine to shred the 'Skins near-league-worst run-defense.
About the only fascinating elements of this game will be trying to decipher how the Pats will use this game as a means of preparation for future, more challenging opponents, both early on on the offensive line if Bryan Stork returns (what happens to the reliable David Andrews?), and later in the action when the game is out of hand (which Kirk Cousins will do his damnedest to make sure doesn't happen in the first quarter).
A healthy Julian Edelman or not, this will be another blowout in the Pats' favor.
