Auburn Police Won't Charge Girl Who Lied About Razor In Halloween Candy
AUBURN (CBS) – An Auburn girl who made up a story about finding a razor blade inside a candy bar wrapper she received on Halloween won't face charges, police say.
In a Facebook post that was shared hundreds of times on Sunday morning, police warned parents about a metal object discovered inside a Hershey bar wrapper. After interviewing the girl, police determined she took the blade from her pencil sharpener.

Auburn police said Monday that not charging the 11-year-old was in everyone's best interest.
"The little girl acknowledged her mistake and has apologized," Auburn Police Sgt. R. Scott Mills said in a statement. "The little girl's mother was very helpful and I am confident she will continue to act in her daughter's best interests."
