Woman Found Dead With Gunshot Wounds At Barnstable Rest Area

BARNSTABLE (CBS) – Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found at a Cape Cod rest stop with gunshot wounds.

Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe announced on Saturday that around 4 a.m. a driver at a rest area between Exit 6 and 7 on Route 6 found a dead woman in the area.

Investigators said the woman was "the apparent victim of gunshot wounds."

Barnstable Police, Massachusetts State Police and the district attorney's office are conintuing to investigate the woman's death.
