Nashua Boys And Girls Club Locked Down After Shots Fired Nearby

NASHUA, N.H. (CBS) – The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua was placed on lock down Tuesday afternoon while police investigated a report of shots fired nearby.

Nashua Police said multiple gunshots were reported on Stevens Ave. near Grand Ave. just before 1 p.m.

People were asked to avoid the area due to "the active investigation and potential danger."

The Boys and Girls Club was locked down as a precautionary measure and officers were stationed there "to ensure the safety of the people within," police said.

Residents were also asked to remain inside their homes.

Police closed off a portion of the neighborhood and searched a home on Stevens Ave.

A SWAT team from Manchester was brought into the area. Several homes were evacuated and multiple people were brought to the Nashua Police Department for questioning.

The scene was cleared just after 5 p.m.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.

Police were not able to locate a weapon, but said the reported incident was for a man firing shots outside a window in the home.
