U-Haul Truck Rolls Over Man In Wellesley Driveway

WELLESLEY  (CBS) – A man was seriously injured after being accidentally rolled over by a moving truck in the driveway of a Wellesley home.

Wellesley Police say that Saturday around 9 a.m. on Lathrop Road, a father and son had parked a moving truck in their sloped driveway, but were unable to utilize the emergency brake.

As the residents were loading the truck, it began to roll forward in the driveway.

The father, in his 60s, tried to climb into the open door of the truck to stop it from rolling. Instead, he slipped and fell partially under the truck while it was rolling forward.

The truck continued to roll down the driveway and across the street until it struck a neighbor's mailbox and came to a stop.

Police say the man suffered serious injuries to his legs. He was brought to Mass General Hospital by Medflight helicopter.
