Teenage Girl Assaulted Inside Bathroom Of Hingham Movie Theater

HINGHAM (CBS) – Moviegoers at the Patriot Cinemas in Hingham were stunned after a young girl was assaulted by a man in the restroom Thursday night.

A 13-year-old girl went to use the ladies room around 8:30 p.m. Coming out of the stall, she was met by a man.

"At some point in there, she was allegedly assaulted by a male that was in the restroom," said Sgt. Steven Dearth of Hingham Police. "And the male left."

The young victim ran out and the police were called. She got a good look at her attacker, described as a white male, approximately 45-years-old, thin build and gray hair. He also has a mole on the right side of his face.

"The victim was very strong, and brave", said Dearth. "We give her a huge credit for that."

Then, this morning in neighboring Cohasset, a man in a white Jeep Cherokee stopped near a 12-year-old girl on the sidewalk. He put on a black ski mask and tried to get her into the SUV.

"He told her to get in the vehicle, then asked if she needed a ride, and she declined him and ran," said Cohasset Det. Lt. Greg Lennon.

The girl said the white Jeep had New York plates on it.

Hingham Police and detectives from Cohasset are trading notes, but do not yet know if these two incidents are connected.
