Dogs Rescued After Being Locked In Basement For Years

CENTERVILLE (CBS) -- Three dogs that were locked in the basement of a Taunton home for six years are ready to be adopted.

The dogs were brought to the Centerville adoption shelter in a plastic tub and had significant health issues.

Seven-year-old Miniature Pinscher named Chibby, 10-year-old Dachshund Buddy, and 9-year-old Rat Terrier Spike became friends through the horrifying ordeal, according to the MSPCA.

All three require dental work. Spike is undergoing heartworm treatment. A fundraising page has been set up by the MSPCA to help offset the cost of treatment.

The staff is hoping all three can be adopted together.

Anyone interested in adopting them can send an email to capeadoptions@mspca.org
