Canadian Man Due In New Hampshire Court For 1988 Killings
NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — A 54-year-old Canadian man is in New Hampshire to face murder charges stemming from the 1988 killing of two women in a Nashua apartment.
The New Hampshire attorney general's office says that David Caplin was turned over by Canadian authorities Tuesday to the U.S. Marshal's Service. He was then arrested by Nashua police.
Caplin's return to the U.S. follows a lengthy extradition fight that ended last month when the Supreme Court of Canada ordered his extradition along with Anthony Barnaby.
Caplin and Barnaby, Micmac Indians, were working construction in Nashua when 48-year-old Charlene Ranstrom and 32-year-old Brenda Warner were bound, beaten and stabbed to death in their home.
Caplin is expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Nashua.
It's unclear if he has a lawyer.
