ROCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) — Police in New Hampshire are asking if anyone recognizes a pit bull that was reportedly thrown out the window of a car.

Rochester police say the female pit bull mix was tossed from a possibly dark-colored Cadillac near Norway Plains Road on Wednesday.

“The dog appears to have recently given birth to puppies,” police said in a Facebook post. “She is thin and had some scratches, but appears to be okay.”

Police said the dog is currently being cared for by a veterinarian in a holding facility.
