WORCESTER (CBS) – Five high school students are in custody after weapons were found in the trunk of a car in a school parking lot on Wednesday afternoon.

Police officers were called to Worcester Vocational Technical High School after several males were seen carrying what appeared to be rifles in the rear parking lot of the school. Witnesses saw the males placing the weapons in the trunk of a car.

When officers arrived, the males were walking away from the car and they were detained without incident.

According to Worcester Police, officers searched the car and found, “a black pellet gun with a scope which looked exactly like a hunting rifle, a black air soft rifle which looked exactly like an assault rifle, a hand held cross bow with a pistol grip, a blow dart weapon which projects long sharp darts from a tube, several arrows for the cross bow, several darts for the blow dart weapon, several containers of metal BB’s and a container of pellets.”

The students, all from Worcester, have been identified as 18-year-old Jonathan Rivera-Santana, 18-year-old Jared Parretti, 18-year-old Zachary Alicandro, and two 17-year-old juveniles.

The students face several charges including conspiracy to commit a crime and disorderly behavior.
