Peabody Murder Suspect Arrested After High Speed Chase Ends With Crash

PEABODY (CBS) – A Peabody man was arrested Saturday following a high speed chase after he allegedly murdered his estranged wife the previous night.

The Essex District Attorney's office said on Saturday that Joseph Buonanduci was arrested and charged with murder after he allegedly beat his estranged wife to death Friday night.

Peabody police responded to Buonanduci's Putnam Road home Friday around 9 p.m. and found 46-year-old Donna Buonanduci dead.

A family member had told police that Donna Buonanduci had gone to her estranged husband's home earlier in the day. When the family member had not heard from her, he went to the home and discovered the crime scene.

Officers determined that a "violent struggle" had taken place and Joseph Buonanduci was missing in his estranged wife's car.

Saturday morning, police became involved in a high speed chase that ended on Interstate 495 North in Amesbury near Exit 55 when the suspect crashed.

Joseph Buonanduci was taken to Anna Jacques Hospital following the crash.

He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Peabody District Court.
