Two Injured In Military Trucks Crash In Northampton

NORTHAMPTON (AP) — Massachusetts state police say two Connecticut residents have been injured when two military trucks collided on Interstate 91 near Northampton.

State police said the two were trapped in the cab of one of the trucks, which had rear-ended the one ahead of it Saturday morning.

Police said the driver, 24-year-old Michael Andolena of Naugatuck, and his passenger, 19-year-old Alyssa Brenner of Terryville, were taken to Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries. Three people in the other truck weren't hurt.

Police said the crash happened at about 11 a.m. when the north-bound trucks tried to maneuver into the breakdown lane.

The crash closed the right travel lane for about five hours. It remains under investigation.
