Charlie Baker's Cabinet Nearly Filled

BOSTON (CBS/AP) - Charlie Baker has been building his administration since he was elected governor in November.

Here is his list of cabinet and staff appointments heading into Inauguration Day:

Chief of Staff:

Steven Kadish. (Democrat) The former senior vice president at Northeastern will be Baker's chief of staff.

Chief Secretary:

Carlo Basile. (Democrat) The state representative from East Boston will be Baker's chief secretary.

Administration and Finance:

Kristen Lepore. (Republican) The former vice president of government affairs for Associated Industries of Massachusetts and former deputy chief of staff for Gov. Paul Cellucci will be the next secretary of administration and finance. Baker held this position under former Gov. William Weld

Education:

James Peyser. (Republican) The charter school advocate and former chairman of the state Board of Education will serve as Baker's secretary of education.

Energy and Environmental Affairs:

Matthew Beaton. (Republican) The Shrewsbury state representative will serve as the energy and environmental affairs secretary.

Health and Human Services:

Marylou Sudders. (Independent) The Boston College social work professor and former state Mental Health Commissioner will serve as secretary of the state Executive Office of Health and Human Services.

Housing and Economic Development:

Jay Ash. (Democrat) Chelsea's city manager will serve as the head of the state's housing and economic development agency.

Labor and Workforce Development:

Ronald L. Walker II. (Democrat) The chairman of the board of The BASE, a Roxbury mentoring center, will serve as the state's next secretary of labor.

Public Safety and Security:

Other appointments:

Linda Spears, vice president for policy, programs and public affairs for the Child Welfare League of America, will serve as commissioner of the Department of Children and Families.

Francisco Urena, commissioner of veterans' services for Boston, will serve as state secretary for Veterans' Services.

Dr. Monica Bharel, chief medical officer for the Boston Health Care for the Homeless program, will serve as commissioner of public health.

John Lebeaux, longtime general manager of Shrewsbury Nurseries, will serve as Commissioner of Agricultural Resources.

Martin Suuberg, the current Undersecretary for the Environment, will be Baker's Environmental Protection Commissioner.

Chrystal Kornegay, president of Roxbury-based nonprofit Urban Edge, will be head of the Department of Housing and Community Development.

Lisa Dixon will be Baker's Legislative Affairs Director.

Tim Buckley will serve as Communications Director.

Elizabeth Guyton, former communications director for Scott Brown, will be Baker's press secretary.
