Gresh & Zo Talk Bruins With Torey Krug

BOSTON (CBS) - 98.5 The Sports Hub's Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak caught up with Bruins defenseman Torey Krug Tuesday afternoon for his weekly interview and a number of different topics were covered, starting with a fellow blue liner returning to practice.

On Zdeno Chara Practicing:

"Yeah there was a big guy out there [today]. It's just great to have Big Z back on the ice. I'm not really sure when he's coming back and playing, but just to have him on the ice with us was a big emotional lift for the whole group, for sure. We have a young group right now in the locker room and sometimes it's tough for the young guys to speak up. So when you've got a guy like Z in the locker room mix and on the ice, he talks so much out there and he's just a great communicator. To have him out there it lightens everything, takes the pressure off some guys and helps some other guys come out of their shell a little bit."

On Rookie David Pastrnak Getting Sent Down To Providence:

"It's gotta be [tough]. He's obviously a first round draft pick and he expects a lot out of himself. I think everybody up here noticed the skill and the talent he has -- I don't make those decisions, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we see him again. He's a great hockey player and we're excited he got a little taste of what it's like to be up here in the NHL every single day. It was impressive to see the skill set that he has. He seems like one of those players that can make something out of nothing."

On Dismal West Coast Trip:

"It's tough. Those first two games I thought we played solid hockey games; we weren't great but we weren't bad. I think we had a chance to win both those games, but at the end of the day we just weren't scoring goals. I don't want to say we weren't taking enough risks, but we were just so conservative. Anytime you leave a road trip with a win it's good. Now we feel like we can start playing better hockey, so we'll use that to our advantage."

On David Krejci:

"Scoring goals has been tough for us. Krejci is going to bring that ability, that scoring swagger back to our team. What he does, and I don't know if you guys notice this or not, but he really slows the game down. When things are chaotic and spiraling out of control, Krejci has the ability to take the puck and really slow the game down and take the game over. It's important for us to have him back in the lineup."

On Team Getting Tested For Mumps:

"That's been going around the NHL a little bit. It's one of those things you've got to stay on top of. I'm pretty sure we're all okay as of now. It's just blood work. Pretty simple process for all of us. I think hockey players are used to seeing their own blood, so that's good."
