Hudson, N.H., Driver's Windshield Shattered By Sheet Of Ice

HUDSON, N.H. (CBS) – Police in New Hampshire are reminding drivers to clear snow and ice off of their vehicles after a sheet of ice cracked a car windshield on Saturday morning.

Hudson, N.H., police said that at about 10:50 a.m. officers responded to Route 111 near the Windham town line for a report of damage caused by ice coming off a white van or large SUV.

After coming off of the vehicle, the ice struck and cracked the windshield of a Volvo wagon. The 35-year-old female driver was showered with glass but uninjured.

The Hudson woman's two children were also inside the Volvo but were not hurt.

Police said the driver of the SUV the ice came from continued driving and did not stop. No description of the driver or license plate was given.

"The Hudson police would like to remind the public to clean off all snow and ice from their vehicles after snow storms," Hudson police said.

"The driver of any vehicle that has ice or snow come off it and strike another vehicle is responsible for any damage or injuries that result."
