BOSTON (CBS) — Darrelle Revis being late for Tuesday’s practice brings up a tough question.
What will Bill Belichick do to discipline his star corner? From everyone I spoke with, Revis simply overslept and it was an accident. This happens all over the NFL, but the only with this instance is it got out.
Coach has a hard line about this: If you’re late, you do not practice. This is nothing new.
After being told to stay home because of his tardiness, Revis went to Gillette after the session and cleared everything with Belichick. He’s likely just going to get a fine, but you have to wonder if Bill will sit Revis for a series — or even the first quarter against the Bears on Sunday.
In the past, we saw Belichick sit Wes Welker for the numerous “foot” references in a press conference, a joke against Rex Ryan. Belichick and Revis could be on the same page, but that could end if there is more than a fine.
I’m sure Revis would love for this to go away, so Sunday’s game against Chicago can not get here fast enough.
