Could New Owners In Buffalo Make AFC East More Competitive?

BOSTON (CBS) - 98.5 The Sports Hub's Mike Felger and Tony Massarotti opened Thursday's show with a macro-AFC East topic.

Longtime Bills owner Ralph Wilson recently passed away, and the sale of the team by the Wilson estate to Terry and Kim Pegula -- owners of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres -- became official on Wednesday.

The Patriots have had very little competition within the division in the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era, winning the AFC East 11 times over the last 13 years, and each of the last five seasons.

The Dolphins have a relatively new owner down in Miami, Stephen Ross, and he doesn't look very competent, and both Felger & Mazz have zero faith that Jets owner Woody Johnson can make that team a winner anytime soon.

This leaves the Bills, in their opinion, as perhaps the AFC East's only hope to challenge New England.

On Thursday afternoon, Felger & Massarotti discussed the changing of the guard in Buffalo, and if the Pegula family can bring the Bills back to prominence.
