SOUTH BOSTON (CBS) - A Hollywood star is turning the camera on his hometown.

Boston native Donnie Wahlberg, star of the hit CBS show 'Blue Bloods," is showcasing his snapshots of the city.

Wahlberg and his new wife Jenny McCarthy came to South Boston Wednesday night for the unveiling of a gallery of photographs at the EpiCenter: Artists for Humanity on West 2nd Street.

The photos on display were taken by Wahlberg and local photographers Josh Andrus and Scott Nobles.

All were inspired by the city.

Wahlberg told WBZ-TV one of his photos, showing a little boy getting sprayed with water on a hot summer day, is a "slice of my childhood."

"We didn't have a swimming pool," he said.

The exhibit tries to match scents to the images, like the smell of hops with a beer photo.

The gallery will be open to the public for just one day – Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. – but it is free.
