One Person Burned, Second Injured When Boat Catches Fire In Provincetown Harbor

PROVINCETOWN (CBS) – One person was burned and another was injured when their boat caught fire in Provincetown Harbor.

The boat was just getting underway when the fire started shortly after noon, the Coast Guard reported.

The two people on board jumped out of the boat and onto a pier.

Mass. Environmental Police towed the boat out of the harbor and let it burn down to the water line before it sank, Coast Guard officials said.

One person who was on the boat suffered burns and was flown by helicopter to a Boston hospital.

The second person suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
