Brockton Police Chief Recovering After Emergency Surgery

BROCKTON (CBS) – Brockton Police Chief Bob Hayden is recovering from emergency surgery for internal bleeding.

Hayden has been in intensive care at South Shore Hospital since last Sunday when he was hit by a car while riding his bike in Hingham.

Hayden has 11 broken ribs, a broken bone in his shoulder  and other injuries.

Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter tweeted out a message calling for prayers for the chief.
