Report: Bill Belichick-Worn Hoodie Sold At Auction For $4,404

BOSTON (CBS) -- Tom Brady is the member of the Patriots who gets paid to model clothes and footwear, but it may be time to create a new title for the head coach.

Bill Belichick: Fashion Icon.

The perpetually sourpussed 62-year-old head coach has always taken a minimalist's approach when it comes to his public appearance on game days. If it's warm out, he's typically wearing khakis and a Patriots polo shirt. As soon as the temperatures dip below 75 degrees, that shirt is replaced by the classic hooded sweatshirt with the sleeves chopped off.

It's a look that formerly was only pulled off by vagrants, but apparently, Belichick has turned it into high fashion.

That seems to be the case because Darren Rovell reported Thursday morning that a Belichick-worn hoodie sold at auction for $4,404.

The sweatshirt is pretty unremarkable, aside from the "BB" initials above the pouch and the custom-chopped sleeves. A similar sweatshirt, minus the "BB" and minus the musk of Mr. Belichick, sells on the Patriots' website for about $75.

But when you're a Hall of Fame coach, people are willing to drop some big bucks to acquire some of your memorabilia ... even if that means spending four grand on a raggedy, possibly sweat-stained hoodie.
