SALISBURY (CBS) – A man armed with a knife and a machete was shot and killed by police in Salisbury Thursday afternoon.

Officers were answering a domestic dispute call on Cable Ave. just before 1:00 p.m. when they discovered that a machete-wielding man attacked a man and woman inside a home.

The suspect’s getaway turned deadly when he slammed his car into a responding police SUV. When he got out with the machete, an officer fired a Taser and then dropped him with several gunshots.

Both of the machete victims suffered serious injuries and one was airlifted to a Boston hospital.

Police would not say how the suspect knew his victims or what the motive was.
