Court Docs: Remy Attacked Inmate Facing Child Porn Charges

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - Court documents are detailing the alleged attack by Jared Remy on another inmate. It happened a week after he was arraigned in the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Jennifer Martel.

According to the Middlesex Sheriff's report, he's accused of throwing a cup of coffee at another inmate named Jeremy Hodges, who's being held on charges of possessing child pornography.

"I did what I had to do. I got a child molester," the report says Remy told the investigating deputy about the incident. "I took hot water, boiling hot water and threw it in the guy's face. I took a piece of soap and threw it at his face and hit him with a chair."

The report says Remy also beat the alleged victim, and called him an anti-gay slur.

When investigators asked Remy about another inmate, Hector Sanchez, assaulting him on March 31st, he said he chose not to press charges.

"I'd rather take a punch in the face everyday living in the tiers earning respect than living in protective custody," he reportedly said.

Remy is set to be arraigned on nine new assault charges later this month.
