Two Dead In Avon Head-On Crash

AVON (CBS) --- Two people died in an early morning crash.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on Harrison Boulevard.

The Norfolk County District Attorney says Joshua Deacon, 26, was driving a 2008 gray Altima westbound when he appears to have crossed the double yellow line into the eastbound lane. He was killed when his vehicle struck a Hyundai traveling eastbound carrying two women in their 40s.

The passenger in the eastbound Hyundai, Tina Lachance, 49 of Brockton, was killed.

The driver of the Hyundai was taken to a Boston trauma center and is undergoing treatment for life threatening injuries.

Police say a passing motorist came upon the scene and contacted Avon Police. The DA said charges are not anticipated in the crash.
