A last second drive that ended in a touchdown gave the Patriots the win over the Saints on Sunday. Unfortunately, the win came at a price as the Pats lose more players to injury.
Jerrod Mayo left this past week’s game in the fourth quarter with a torn pectoral muscle. Mayo underwent surgery on Tuesday and the Patriots placed him on the IR on Wednesday morning.
Aqib Talib also left the game in the second half with a hip injury. Early reports indicated that the injury is not believed to be serious.
And as if all that wasn’t enough the offense also suffered a few injuries. Wide receiver Danny Amendola was knocked out of the game in the second half after taking a nasty blow to the head on the left sideline. Amendola was helped off the field and it was later announced that he suffered a head injury.
Offensive lineman Dan Connolly also suffered a head injury in the first half and was replaced at right guard by Marcus Cannon.
