PLYMOUTH (CBS) — Police are investigating a deadly head on crash that killed a mother and daughter.

Two cars collided on Federal Furnance Road early Sunday morning.

Officials tell WBZ a 64-year-old Carver woman was driving with her 24-year-old daughter in the car when it appears she crossed the center line, striking another car head on.

The mother was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter was taken to the hospital where she died.

The other car was being driven by a 25-year-old man from Kingston. He is expected to survive.

The road was shut down for several hours as emergency crews cleared the crash scene and reconstructed the accident.
