Carl Stevens' Journal: Ode To The Twinkie
BOSTON (CBS) -- Twinkies are back under a restructured Hostess Company.
Retail analysts say there is room for growth despite the fact the company went bankrupt after an acrimonious fight with its unionized workers, last year.
Also now on store shelves, Hostess Cupcakes and Donettes. The ever-popular Snowballs will be back in stores in the fall.

Ode To The Twinkie

Twinkie Twinkie Twinkies back upon the shelves,
So all is Twinkie better with all our Twinkie selves.
We're wearing Twinkie smiles, our souls are fully lubed,
Thanks to the Twinkie goodness inside those sugar tubes.
Cylinders of yellow, extracted from a dream,
Twinkie Twinkie Twinkie...Twinkie filled with cream.
When all the world around us seems in disarray,
The constancy of Twinkie makes the bad stuff go away.
The weight of bad decisions, or a checkered history,
Disappears in the happy fog of a Twinkie mystery.
Parents, pack those lunches, for little Jill and Joey:
And please include a Twinkie, blissful, yummy and doughy.
Shape those Twinkie minds and their Twinkie figures,
Let the Twinkie youth grow up, as they get big and bigger.
Young and old alike enjoy this culinary prize,
Together, as a nation, our glutenous gets maximized...

Our engines of ambition should be fueled with Twinkie gas,
Our glorious Twinkie future should be built on a Twinkie past,
The flag of a filled up nation should be proudly unfurled,

I'm Twinkie independent, Twinkie good and Twinkie free
As I stand smiling in an aisle in a Walmart close to me,
Knowing I've the strength to withstand the worst attack,
Girded by the knowledge that Twinkies now are back.
