Two Teenage Girls Hit By Cars Near Derry, NH Carnival

DERRY, N.H. (AP) — Police say two teenage girls were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by vehicles near the Derry carnival.

Police say an initial investigation reveals that the teens were crossing Manchester Road around 9:10 p.m. Friday when they were hit by a car and an SUV.

Police say 13-year-old Lauren Gendreau of Derry and 15-year-old Sophia Christen of Manchester were taken to Parkland Medical Center. Sophia was later flown to UMass Medical Center in Worcester (WUS'-tur) with serious head injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation
