AMHERST (AP) — Runners who were unable to complete the Boston Marathon are being invited to cross a symbolic finish line at the University of Massachusetts’ spring football game.
Coach Charley Molnar, an avid runner, says he wants those who trained for the event to be able to celebrate their achievement. The school is having the runners take a lap around the field at halftime on Saturday, wearing their marathon bibs, and cross a finish line that will set up at the 50-yard line. Each will receive a gift from the school.
