BEDFORD (CBS) – A huge aircraft known as the “Super Guppy” landed at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford Tuesday.

It was delivering a heat shield that will be brought to Textron Systems in Wilmington to have a protective coating put on it.

The heat shield will then be used on the Orion NASA Spacecraft.

The Super Guppy’s nose opens up to a massive cargo bay. It is more than 48 feet to the top of its tail and has a wingspan of more than 156 feet.
