Carver Man Accused Of Domestic Violence, Puppy Abuse

CARVER (CBS) - A Carver man is facing assault and battery and animal cruelty charges following an alleged domestic dispute.

Police say 47-year-old Roger Santos had punched his wife in the face.

During the alleged dispute, Santos also took the family's 4-month-old Chihuahua and threw it several times, according to officers.

Police say Santos' 9-year-old son was the one who called 911.

Officers say the victim suffered visible injuries. They did not indicate whether she needed medical treatment.

The puppy did appeared frightened but unharmed, according to police.

Santos was charged with Assault and Battery on a Household Member and Cruelty to Animals.
