Accused Parking Meter Thief Had Run-In With Police At House Fire In June

TAUNTON (CBS) – Police in Taunton say they caught a Norton man in the act of stealing parking meters earlier this week.

Officers reportedly arrested Richard E. Dunn with two parking meters in his possession just after 3 a.m. on Wednesday after someone witnessed them being stolen nearby.

Dunn is already facing charges from an incident earlier this summer, where he allegedly punched a police officer. His son (also pictured) is also facing charges from that incident in June.

Dunn's home was on fire at the time, and he was attempting to go back inside in an effort to save his dog.
